Sent when you publish an amendment from the change-order wizard. Carries the unsigned addendum PDF, a fresh PIN, and a sign/decline CTA.
Amendments are how you change scope, price, or timeline after the contract is already signed. The amendment email re-engages the client with a clear diff of what's changing and a new PIN gate to protect the signing flow.
Step by step
Build the amendment.
Open the proposal โ Actions โ
Create amendment. Walk through the wizard (change line items, deposit, timeline, or scope).Click
Send amendment.The wizard validates required fields, generates the addendum PDF, and queues the email.
Watch for the read receipt.
The Timeline records "Amendment sent at HH:MM"; once the client opens the link, "Amendment viewed at HH:MM" appears.
Status badge gains "Amendment in progress" sub-state. Documents dropdown gains ADD-XXXX (the unsigned addendum). Action menu shows Resend amendment, Withdraw amendment. Inbox: confirmation that the email was sent (no archive copy of the amendment email itself โ just the timeline event).
Why this works this way
Per CJEU C-49/11 Content Services (durable medium for B2C), the parent signed Service Agreement (AGR) is attached alongside the addendum. URL alone isn't a durable medium for B2C โ the email must carry the chain of contract documents the client may need to refer to.
The amendment introduces a new PIN, separate from the original proposal PIN. This is intentional โ the amendment is a distinct legal act and gets its own access control. The new PIN appears in the email body in a callout block; the public amendment page at app.useclozo.com/a/{slug} requires it.

Creating an amendment (the 4-step wizard)
The amendment wizard at `/proposals/{id}/amend` walks you through line items, reason, preview, and email โ in that order. Five minutes for a simple change, ten minutes for a complex one. The client doesn't see anything until you click Send on Step 4.

Confirms the client signed the change-order. Body and attachments are phase-aware โ you and the client see different copy depending on whether the amendment increases scope, decreases scope, or is neutral.

When you increase scope on a contract with a consumer (B2C) client, EU consumer law gives that client a fresh 14-day right to withdraw from the added portion. Clozo presents a mandatory waiver checkbox so the client knows the right exists and explicitly waives it.
