"I forgot to set up Stripe before sending โ can my client still pay by card?"
The proposal email was sent before you enabled Stripe Connect, so it doesn't include the card-payment button. No need to re-issue โ you can connect Stripe now and resend the deposit invoice; the new email will include the Stripe button.
This happens often during onboarding โ you ship a proposal in Day 1 enthusiasm, then realise Stripe Connect would have made things smoother. The fix is simple: connect Stripe, resend the relevant invoice email.
Step by step
Connect Stripe
at
/settings/payments. Wait forcharges_enabled = true(usually within minutes).Open the proposal
in question.
Click
Resend deposit invoice(or
Resend final invoice email) from Actions.The new email goes out
with the Stripe button embedded.
Why this works this way
Email content reflects the freelancer's account state at the moment of dispatch. Stripe button is included only when charges_enabled = true at send time. If you connect Stripe after sending, future emails for that same proposal pick up the new state.
